Overall, it privatizes a lot, cuts, & consolidates power.
whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl
Under the Plan, the govt sells off the US Postal Service, FAA, eliminates more than a 1/3rd of the US Public Health Corps, restructures all foreign aid & development programs, and places every single domestic program for poor families & children under a single welfare authority.
The Plan also offers a real estate bonanza for developers, selling off federal properties en masse. And it cuts or restructures all the fedl progs that are meant to educate people about their financial rights & protect them from bank & mortgage fraud.
The #Trump plan cuts R&D @NASA and all forms of alternative energy development are consolidated under a single DOE agency. A Dept of Welfare is created, and all forms of support for health of America's poor leave @HHS & go to new Welfare authority.
The Plan facilitates "streamlined" privatization of federal assets via a Customer Experience (CX) Improvement Capability.
It transfers all background/conflicts checks on fedl appointees and employees AWAY from @FBI and into the Dept. of Defense.
whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl
Net impact of the #Trump govt reorg scheme is taking everything across govt that is for poor & needy people and consolidate it under single budgetary authority, cut science all over the place, eliminate the Census Bureau, reduce regulation &, as this closing shot shows, #MAGA .

[cont] 11.) Consolidate all development assistance aid overseas, "such as OPIC & DCA, in a reformed & modernized way to leverage more private-sector investment, provide strong alts to state-directed inits, create more innovative vehicles to open and expand markets for US firms"
[cont] 12.) Complete "structural reform" of @USAID, top2bottom to reduce costs & do "a significant re-envisioning of USAID & its potential to support U.S. national security, foreign policy, & economic goals while effectively managing & overseeing taxpayer-funded programs."
MORE
[cont] 13.) Reinterpret the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978, allowing creation of a single personnel authority to oversee, manage, hire & fire all non-military federal employees.

Is this sort of information hidden from the public in general? I don't like the trend of nameless blanket statements wherein the perpetrators can remain hidden. We really need to make sure that the light of day hits all the dark corners so there isn't anonymity. Let's make a point to expose the people who are behind the policy outrages private persons, public figures, senators and congressmen who suggest and have access to such, aides, businesses. I'm sick of being swept along by outside forces and in ignorance of the humans behind it all. Trumps period is also the time to expose all corruption and harmful thinking so that it can be clearly seen for what it is.

They thought I was a radical lefty for warning them--over many years--that this was the end game for the pukes. Well, not the end game, it would get even worse. pukes of course want to get rid of even more of the Federal government.
And, if in power long enough, the fascists will scour every *personal* email and social media post of EVERY Federal civil servant + use the database the kook bros have amassed on EVERY American to root out anyone who votes Dem/opposes donnie, then fire them.
The civil service was deliberately designed to be nonpolitical. pukes want to make it serve at their whim.

Remember that McCain is essentially gone and Democrats picked up a seat in a special election meaning the split in the Senate is basically 50 GOP and 49 D + I.

(12,595 posts)for the rich. Call it Paul Ryan's parting f*ck you gift.
After that's done, they'll go after privatizing Social Security, forcing people to invest in administration-approved stocks which have no guarantee of increasing in value and whose price swings are subject to random comments made by the most psychotic president in the history of the United States.
The thing is, the Deplorables will yell and cheer for these changes, which will only hurt them, their children and their grandchildren. #MAGA
If Drump and his minions are able to accomplish this radical remake of the U.S. government to favor the rich and hurt the middle class and poor, the question becomes: what are they going to do next? We already know they want to suppress the vote until the Dems will never be able to hold a single Congressional or state seat ever again, want to annihilate the Voting Rights Act (which they've gotten a good start on, thanks to Scalia, may his soul rest in hell), privatize all public lands -- including the national parks -- and eliminate all clean air and water regulations. The administration has a fantasy about regulating the print, broadcast and internet media, and is well on its way to making it impossible for new watchdog news websites to take hold on the internet because of the end of net neutrality. They'll definitely throw red meat at their evangelical base -- mandatory Christian prayer in school, elimination of teaching evolution, turning churches into Super PACs where unlimited tax deductible donations can be made to support candidates (nearly always right wing). Gay marriage will once again be illegal, gays and transgender people will be kicked from the military. The few remaining restrictions on guns will be eliminated. FDA regulations will be curtailed and eliminated. The Space Force will result in a globe circled with nuclear tipped missiles with the ability to strike a target in seconds and not minutes (right now it takes 20+ minutes from launch detection until impact). The Emoluments clause of the Constitution will be gutted even more than it is now.
Christianity will be declared the official religion of the U.S., and English will be declared the official language. We will have "language police" as they do in Quebec and France. The alt-right, white supremacists, and neo-Nazis will continue to crawl out from under their rocks, and some will be elected to positions of responsibility.
All immigration -- except for the "right people", as defined by Trump -- will be eliminated. We will become the most isolated country in the world, with only our BFF Israel left as a friend. Of course, Putin will still call the shots.
These are only the things they have said they want to do, or are already doing. My question is, if they accomplish all their goals, what new hell will they dream up next?
Question re: USPS -- I thought it was already a private entity, and its biggest problem is one the Republican Congress created for it, which is to require it to have available an account with 70 years of retirement funds, an amount not required by any other agency. Absent that, it's the only profit-making entity in the federal government.
Elections matter, and to those who stayed home or voted third party in 2016, thanks in advance for the world you are creating. Just to remind everybody of Jill Stein's role in this mess:

(12,595 posts)as the elderly population died off a large number of gays and lesbians discovered and inhabited P.S., mostly due to the annual White Party. It is definitely more liberal now -- our last mayor was a lesbian. It's a small thing, but it wouldn't have happened 20 years ago when I moved here.
Where downtown was once the home of T-shirt shops, it's full of art galleries, antique and vintage clothing boutiques, and a variety of upscale restaurants, which have replaced the local Hamburger Hamlet. There are several film festivals each year, including the Palm Springs International Film Festival that Sonny Bono started when he was mayor. If it didn't get to 115+ degrees on a regular basis throughout the summer, it would be a perfect place to live.
Actually, I now live in Yucca Valley, 30 miles north, 4,000 feet above, and 20 degrees cooler than Palm Springs. It's the land of meth labs (we will hear one explode occasionally), the Marine Corps Combat Training Center (we hear a lot more explosions from there), and of wall-to-wall tattoo parlors. If you are over 18 and under 70 there's a 75% chance you have a tattoo somewhere on your body. Last month I had a 60-year-old woman show me her tramp stamp -- and a good portion of her butt crack -- at the student store at the local community college. Being of the older generation, my wife and I are tattoo virgins.
We can see Joshua Tree National Park from our kitchen window. When I first lived here, the Park was still designated as a Monument, and got about 400,000 visitors a year. You could go wander around it for hours and not see another person. Since it became a National Park, however, annual attendance has skyrocketed to 4 million visitors. You may as well be in Disney World.
Overall, however, it's pleasant here. We live away from the city so we have coyotes, quail, jackrabbits and bunnies wandering around our property continually, and one afternoon we opened the back door to find a bobcat laying up against our screen door, snoozing. While it's no longer designated as a Dark Sky City due to L.A.'s smog creeping in, you can still see the Milky Way once your eyes acclimate. It's a far change from when I lived in L.A.

But our congressional district went Democratic (Raul Ruiz, MD) in 2012, due to the large number of Hispanics, LGBT folks, and get-out-of-Los-Angeles types like my wife and me. And all of these groups intend to keep it BLUE.

(6,324 posts)So it is a government agency still. But it exists on its own, outside of any executive agency. So essentially they are self-running and managing without the direct control of the President.
It operates in many ways like a private company. But at the same time it enjoys many benefits of being a government agency that a private company wouldnt have- its law enforcement branch are actual federal law enforcement officers. It has a federal law giving it a monopoly on delivering first class mail and also over use of your mail box- you own your mail box but the law says that only USPS can put anything in it. They are exempt from property taxes on facilities, fuel tax, vehicle registration fees, and most other taxes.
And while USPS employees are supposed to follow traffic laws they are immune from prosecution for any state or local laws. Its a tricky place if a cop can do anything against the USPS if they break the law, if its a violation against the driver they can write the ticket, and USPS may leave it to the driver to pay if they deem them having not followed the rules (like speeding) or if its one from something like blocking traffic during a delivery they may claim immunity as it was an act in the drivers official duties. Anything written against the vehicle owner, like parking tickets or red light cameras or equipment violations, USPS has full immunity from any fines or penalties.
