It premiered on UK tv tonight a 75-minute episode filmed mainly at the offices of the New York Times, and started right at the moment of Trump's inauguration and ended with Trump's appearance at the Easter Egg Hunt not long after Comey's testimony. Three more episodes of an hour each, so a bit of a long haul, especially having to revisit Trump's speeches from Year 1.
I was interested in Maggie Haberman's part in the series as I know she divides opinions about how close she is to Trump and the favourable treatment she gives him. I wasn't aware how long she had been a tabloid journalist before joining the NYT and that she had been reporting on Trump for years. She mentioned that he was known as 'page 6 Trump' due to him being relied upon for a quotable story. The rest of the NYT staff seemed to set a lot of store by her opinions of him. At one point she was seen taking a call from Trump right after the Health Care bill was cancelled - he answered a couple of questions, the answers were proved to be BS by another reporter's source within a few seconds !
Anyone else seen it? What do you think?

(262 posts)There was a lot of stuff about the inner workings of a newspaper in 2017- just seemed a constant race to get content online. The documentary was filmed at a time when the NYT was trying to cut costs and reducing its office space - apparently the paper's offices have been reduced to seven floors now.
