Bullies always want civility directed towards them. But bullies aren't ever civil unless you force it from them. And you know how you force civility from a bully? You give him a thorough ass-whipping. You bloody his nose, knock him in the dirt, and kick him until he cries for mercy. Then you tell him he'd better not ever mess with you again, and give him one more good kick to drive the point home.

If we ever get into a position to put it to Republicans, we'd better do it thoroughly and leave them bleeding in the dirt. No civility. Just punishment.

1. It's not about the high road or the low road

it's about the electorate which is large and very mushy, large enough and mushy enough to elect President Obama to two terms and send Trump to the WH. These voters are not political, they do not particpate on boards and forums and like it or not, are much more absorbed into their individual daily lives to really understand what's going on, and they also do not understand, and likely do not condone the tactics some are advocating. Coming up on mid-terms and though it may feel like a moral imperative to vigorously challenge, openly harangue and harass Trump officials, family, supporters, I gaurantee it will cost us.
