I'm so fucking pissed right now. GODDAMN IT!!! Well hello 50's America, nice to not meet you ever. Fucking McConnell I hope that SOB burns in hell. I'm so goddamn pissed I can't even think straight right now. I'm doing everything in my power to not going on a rampage on Facebook and call out some people I know who didn't vote. But I'm losing that battle badly.

(9,273 posts)I'll vote of course, but I need something to occupy my brain. Can't take this anymore.

(29,219 posts)after all... 50's America was fairly anti-USSR as I recall.
We are now headed to Germany 1939 and the MolotovRibbentrop Pact

(9,128 posts)The Radical Right not only wants to do away with the Great Society and Richard Nixons add-ons like the EPA, but also the New Deal.
Those moderates who saw themselves as Eisenhower Republicans yet voted for Trump can look forward to what life was like for the average Jane or Joe under Coolidge and Hoover.
As for me, Im an ex-Republican who walked away from the GOP, but thought that compared to what well get soon, even Tricky Dicks welfare state (as practiced) wasnt that bad.

(108 posts)And I share your anger and disappointment (why in God's name couldn't Kennedy have waited until after the election?), but let's focus that anger on doing whatever we can to help change the House and especially the Senate. I'm supporting Kyrsten Sinema's bid in Arizona and I urge all of our fellow DUers to choose a Democratic Senatorial candidate to help--financially, as a volunteer, in any way you can. May not help with Kennedy's replacement, but losing the Senate is what led us to this point, and we need to take it back.
