Someone needs to talk to KENNEDY

I'm serious.......... his family, his friends.................. someone has got to get into that man's head and explain to him that he has GOT to stay on AT LEAST until the new congress is sworn in in January. PLEASE give us that much. Just 6 more months.

There is NO solution coming in the senate to stop this madness. Kennedy is our only hope. Someone has GOT TO STOP HIM............

of the kind of lunatic that will be replacing him. He doesn't give a fuck about country or patriotism or any of that quaint shit.

perhaps we should argue if the Electoral College will change their votes, eh? Nonsense. I know they have to get their anger out, but acting like Peter Pan is not gonna help.

9. Acting like "someone' can go "talk to him" is such utter nonsense.

Pretty sure he is an adult who made his own decision.

What? Some duer should make an appointment and lay out our worries? Sometimes I just laugh out loud with what I read here.

I pretend Rs are reading our stuff and laughing their butts off....exactly what they want..playing right into their hands. Our parents wouldn't allow us to say Shut Up...so even at 67 I don't use that phrase...but I want to on DU today...

If you make the appt to talk to Kennedy in the morning, you can swing by Al Franken's house in the afternoon and talk to him!!

The sons of both Kennedy and Trump have been friends for years. No way does anyone talk him out of this. This was likely coordinated for a while now.

He's either got the world's worst timing or it's pretty intentional.
Not only is Kennedy handing the court to the nazi trumpists but the
disruption he's causing around election time will energize
the racist knuckledraggers. Really, WTF was Kennedy thinking?
I had no idea he could be so evil or dumb or both.

What would be horrifying to me would be a bunch of people saying I need to keep working at that age.

For all we know, he could have been diagnosed with something awful, and simply wants to have some peace. It's not as if anyone is entitled to know what his medical condition might or might not be.

He's simply not obligated to work until he drops dead.

When you turn 81, drop me a PM and I'll tell you what you need to do to make me happy.

A few months make a lot of difference no matter what your age.
We'll see how this affects the election.

He's a lost cause. I do think he was under tremendous pressure to resign.

8. he was and is a republican. he was never on our side.

he occasionally joined with the liberal justices on a few cases.

that may have made him the best of the worst, but he was always first and foremost part of the worst.

he's retiring now because he wants a republican to replace him.

if he retires later, democrats could keep his seat open to be eventually replaced by a democratic president.
that would be great *for us*, but *he* is a republican and doesn't want that.

His conversations with his doctors convinced him that retiring now is the better option. He is old and sick.

People couldn't be bothered to vote Democratic to protect the Supreme Court in 2016.
