17. Donald knows what HE'S doing. He knows nothing about Mueller.

Trumpy has the conflicts of interest. In his tradition, he projects onto others what he's doing himself. "It's rigged" means that he rigged the election. "Crooked" Hillary means that he's crooked. "The world is laughing at us" means that the world is laughing at HIM. This is one of the more visible patterns that Trumpy employs to maintain power. IOW, he uses variations of the same con game that got him the nomination.

Con artists, if they're good, always have their cadre of true believers who will give the con artist the shirt off their backs in exchange for the HOPE of good fortune, emotional security, and/or the illusion of moral rectitude. They will NEVER have any of their hopes realized. But that's the nature of the con. Promises will NEVER be fulfilled, but the con artist will always benefit. And thus we see Trumpy, day in and day out, working the con game, lavishing his followers with words of white hope that he'll turn our nation into a haven for Aryan "freedom".

So could potentially be tempted to try to mitigate impacts to the Orange Menace's presidency, since it's an opportunity for the Repubs to ram through all kinds of legislation that they've been fantasizing about for decades. We can hope that Mueller's integrity and dedication to upholding the law will prevail, but I'd have to agree that there could be the perception of a conflict of interest due to his party affiliation.

The most curious thing about his projection is that he seems to believe that no one can detect it. He must think it's a master stroke of genius to use his own fears and resentments as descriptions and accusations of others.

But maybe it makes no difference because his base will believe anything he says. So he can project until his bladder falls out and his base will clammer that he should receive the Einstein Award, the Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award, the Nobel Anything Prize, and a gold-plated hot dog from Oscar Meyer. My only question is: Why aren't the Trumpy Fans promoting Trumpy for Sainthood? Why aren't they petitioning Pope Francis to canonize Trumpy? Or further, why don't they just tell Pope Francis to step aside because there's a new Pope in town? Trumpy and his Fans already know that Trumpy is infallible, that he channels the Truth from God. That he'd be appointed Pope is only a reflection of reality itself.
