Bernie Sanders at a book party last night in DC says "in many ways we did win the election."

Bernie Sanders at a book party in DC says “in many ways we did win the election.”

Sanders points to Democratic embrace of Medicare for all as evidence for above statement.

I guess that depends on who "we" is.

Bernie Sanders disparages political consultants at a Washington book party— but was quickly reminded that three of his political consultants were in the audience.

Is that the price of a good electioneer nowadays?

Families are torn apart, people will lose their healthcare, the composition of the SC deciding crucial topics will be changed for decades. All of this isn't negated by some political positions.

Again, he seems to only talk from his own privilege. In a way, it seems to have worked out better for him that Trump won the election. Maybe that was by design and the intended outcome. He surely keeps cashing in which is winning of some sort as well.

A way that Trump and Sanders are tuned in: They know exactly what their base wants to hear and they don't give a damn how it sounds in reality. They know who the impassioned people are and direct their propaganda toward them.

Many members of our party can learn from this. We shouldn't go full Trump/Sanders style as that also mitigates support in other areas but turning the volume up a little when it comes to propaganda would be a good thing.

This article shows that these policies are failing https://www.economist.com/united-states/2018/06/09/berned-out

None of Mr Sanders’s other big ideas—including free college and massive public works—is getting much play. Nor have Sanders-endorsed candidates fared well in the primaries. Our Revolution, a group Mr Sanders formed to promote his acolytes, has been a failure. “It doesn’t do anything,” gripes a strategist for one of its candidates.

Rumpled, crumpled, Trumpled

The energy on the left is focused on opposing Mr Trump’s attack on liberal democracy, not on carrying forward Mr Sanders’s revolution. The success of moderate candidates in the Democratic primaries suggests this is making the party more pragmatic and mindful of party unity than Mr Sanders, an ideologue who is not a Democratic Party member, might like.

… it's sad when the mind goes... Bernie had a fine career, though. I wish reporters would cut him some slack and not make "news" with every single silly thing he says.

PS Hillary did win, and it wasn't close. She wasn't elected, which is the problem - the Congressional races also gave Dems Congress, if you count the cotes and not the districting (more people voted for Democrats all over the country).

After being scared out of their wits about Obamacare, many people came to see that the ACA was a good thing. Then along comes Trump who wants to take it away and go back to the bad old days. Of course Medicare for All has more support. Thanks, Obama and Pelosi!

in almost Congress beginning in 2003 and ending in 2017. The legislation would establish a universal single-payer healthcare system in the United States. I'm not sure why people are unaware that Democrats have been fighting for universal coverage for decades.

The public advocacy organization MedicareForAll.org has been asking BS and his supporters to get on board for years.
