What am I talking about?
Ads for prescription drugs.
I tape on my DVR the evening news, so I can skip through the ads.
But in the mornings, when I'm waiting for the forecast on The Weather Channel, there is just one ad after another for prescription drugs.
And the ones for bipolar sufferers are the worst.
We need to outlaw these ads.

(100,100 posts)Every commercial on TV anymore is either for a new car or an extremely specific pharmaceutical drug. Sometimes I really wonder if our skyrocketing drug prices have to do with the skyrocketing number of times we see their advertisements on TV? I would be willing to bet there's a correlation there.

(2,891 posts)outlawed these type of ads. I have almost completely stopped watching
cable or network news and other types of shows because of the ads
and the corporate bias. I will watch specific clips someone posts but I
get most of my news and weather online where I can block ads or go
to a different site.

(10,133 posts)Theae ads are out if control yes. In the middle of an opioid crisis, ads for opioid caused constipation really says it all.

(269,157 posts)I've never seen anything like the ads there -: fugging non-stop. I do laugh when the list the side effects which sound worse that whatever was/is the health problem.

(100,100 posts)"Side effects include vomiting, kidney infections, and in some cases, death. Do not take (insert drug name here) if you are allergic to (whatever)."
Wait, did they just broadbrush death? Way to hide the lead there!

(269,157 posts)But the best line these days tells us not to stop taking it without the doctor's permission for that is worse than all the side effects.

(100,100 posts)So you're watching an ad to go tell you to look at another ad. Does anyone actually do this?
