The president claims North Korea has returned 200 service members remains. That has not happened.
WASHINGTON Having already invented thousands of parents who begged him to bring home the bodies of their Korean War veteran children, President Donald Trump is now inventing hundreds of such repatriations that havent actually happened.
The return of the remains of American service members who were killed in that war has become a major victory Trump likes to claim from his June 12 meeting in Singapore with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
It was the last thing I asked, he told a gathering of Nevada Republicans on Saturday. I said, Do you mind, would I be able to get the remains back of all those great heroes from so many years ago? And he said, I will do that. And you probably read, they have already done 200 people. Which is so great.
On Monday, Trump told a rally audience in South Carolina: Were getting the remains of our great heroes back.
The only problem: No remains have yet been returned, and it is unclear when that might happen. We have not yet physically received them, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, but said that he is optimistic it would take place in the not-too-distant future.

(7,142 posts)was in the Korean war. His mom and dad died many years ago. I'd like to know what these thousands of parents eat and drink to live so long. What is scary isn't how often Trump lies, I believe the opposite of what he says, it's how many of his cult believe him. What really pizzes me off is how the M$M keeps reporting his nonsense instead of laughing at his lies, instead we end up debating those lies. Trump is controlling the narrative with the help of the M$M. This topic should have just been labeled another Trump con job. It's one thing for his cult to believe his every word, that's like teaching a parrot to speak, but it's another thing for the M$M to constantly give what Trump says credence.

The Korean War ended in 1953. Let's say that an MIA soldier was 18 at the time, and his parents were 18 when he was born. 1953 -36 = 1917. Thus, the youngest any of those parents could reasonably be is 101.
Another example of a really stupid lie from Trump.

(865 posts)I doubt Trump could tell within a few years the Korean war actually occurred.
