Jarrod W. Ramos, who law enforcement sources say used a shotgun to blast his way into the Capital Gazette newsroom on Thursday, killing five people and wounding two others, had a long-running dispute with the news organization.
He had previously made general threats against the community newspaper company over social media, including some as recent Thursday, said William Krampf, Anne Arundel Countys acting police chief. The threats indicated violence, Chief Krampf said.
Mr. Ramos, who is in his late 30s, was arrested after the attack. He was found hiding under a desk.
As recently as 2012, Mr. Ramos worked for the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. He has a degree in computer engineering.

(1,148 posts)Much is made by lefties of the fact that they're white, or maybe they're gun-humpers or praise Trump, but so many of these mass shooters have a history of aggression toward and abuse of women. I'm not seeing that highlighted in articles and posts on Twitter. It's fine to point the blame at the climate Trump and the right wing is creating, but so many of us women have lived with undue attention and / or abuse from men, and we fear this.
My sister is an advocate for disability rights, and she's gotten death threats and been stalked on Facebook. Other people have wished she would die from her disability. Too many white people out there (mostly men) have been using the internet to put people in fear for their lives.
