Velarde, NM, man charged with raping 8-year-old boy
SANTA FE, NM —
A Velarde man who was arrested but not indicted two years ago in the rape at gunpoint of a 13-year-old girl has now been charged with raping an 8-year-old boy.
In February 2016, Maestas was charged with criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual contact of a minor, two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
He allegedly had raped a 13-year-old girl in Española while holding a gun and forced another 13-year-old girl to stay on the ground nearby until he had completed the rape.
“(The victim) described that Ezekiel took her to a field near the Skate Park and while he had his gun, Ezekiel told her to get undressed,” an arrest warrant affidavit says. “(The girl) said she did not want to and Ezekiel told her, ‘Don’t think I won’t pull the trigger.'”
The victim was also reported as saying, “Ezekiel told her if she told anyone he would kill her family.”
