Like Stockholm syndrome, we have adopted the language of the captors. The devaluation of a workers time is so complete, we dont even notice the distorted language.
If I buy a car, I pay cash, and Im the buyer and the car dealer is the seller. The car dealer did not provide a car. They sold a car, and in exchange, they received money.
Companies dont provide jobs. They hire workers, they may have job openings a set of tasks that need to be done (or decisions to be made) for which they can justify hiring someone. They arent giving those paychecks for free. They buy the knowledge, services and time of the workers, and they pay for that knowledge, services and time with wages or salaries. Its a two way transaction, not a gift.
Does anyone still stand, in America?
