I just found out that a dear friend lost his dear friend in the shooting yesterday.

My friend is a playwright, and she stood up for him in his wedding to his partner.

I met her there, and had no idea until he posted the wedding photo on FB this morning with the words:

Y'know how toward the end of the Scottish Play himself says, "There would have been a time for such a word"?

Well he's wrong. There would not have been a time. Never. Not ever.

It is sinking in that this is something that will be true and that I will carry for the rest of my life.
