17. Mueller's probe is pretty sprawling

and seems to have at least one part of it looking at money-laundering. Kennedy was Trump's banker from 1997-2009. I don't know how far back Mueller's looking wrt money-laundering, but it's possible Kennedy could get swept up in some aspect of that investigation. Then Justice Kennedy might need Trump to grant his son a pardon.
