Then, on Thursday evening, the independent former mayor of New York City held a fundraiser at his home for Rep. Peter King, a Republican.
The event sought to raise $10,000 for the Long Island congressmans campaign, New York Times reporter Shane Goldmacher said on Twitter.
An adviser to Bloomberg told Goldmacher that the former mayor and King have a long-standing relationship:

Makes sense, if you have the money and lack the morals.
Though you can probably take this at face value... he already has a relationship with King, and doesn't want to drop him like a hot potato and lose all that time and money spent on him.
