"SNIP...........
Suffolk University/USA Today Poll:
On the polls congressional ballot questionWhich partys candidate are you more likely to vote for in your congressional district?the GOP trails by just six points, 45 percent to 39 percent. But when the question is framed around TrumpDo you want to elect a Congress that mostly cooperates with President Trump, or one that mostly stands up to President Trump?the gap more than triples. Fifty-five percent of voters choose a Congress that stands up to Trump. Only 34 percent choose a Congress that cooperates with Trump. A six-point deficit becomes a 21-point deficit.
YouGov poll:
The YouGov questionnaire asks respondents whether they want this years congressional candidates to be more or less like Donald Trump. Forty-six percent say they want candidates less like Trump. Only 32 percent say they want candidates more like him. Thats well below his 41 percent approval rating.
By the way, in the YouGov poll, those disappointed with how Congress has acted in the last two years (41% of all respondents), blame their disappointment on the Republicans by a margin of almost 2 ½ to 1!
The Quinnipiac survey:
The survey asks whether youd be more or less likely to vote for a House or Senate candidate who strongly embraces President Trump and his policies. Forty-three percent say theyd be less likely; only 29 percent say theyd be more likely. That 14-point spread is more than twice the size of the GOPs deficit when Trump isnt mentioned.

(33,643 posts)Those other gaps are most likely due to a not-insignificant part of the population being so politically clueless that they don't even know Trump ... is a Republican.

(82,383 posts)is not such good advice here. It seems best to frame ads in terms of standing up to the Orange Bloviator.

(118,696 posts)Trump will not work on its own. And since Trump is all over the place and has been for 2 years it is time to put the Democratic vision out there - EVERYWHERE!

(82,383 posts)think it is cooperating with the Idiot, then it is better to highlight that the Ds won't cooperate with him. The gap is far less without that.

(10,721 posts)Those like Trump or at least supported by Trump have done quite well in Republican primaries. That has frightening implications, since the pre-Trump Republican Party was already dangerously destructive and inhumane.
It could also prove beneficial in the long run...so long as we/Democrats overcome Russia, voter suppression, irresponsible media and other barriers and take back both the House and Senate.

(9,247 posts)I heard ALL DAY yesterday about how GOP candidates that criticized Trump (or didn't kiss his ass) all LOST and how they all knew they had to lick his toilet and his ass to win.
