Rosenstein Got Manipulated By Trump And He Promises The Full Story Will Vindicate Him

Rod Rosenstein said privately that Trump administration manipulated him into writing the memo that justified the firing of James Comey, and that the full story will vindicate him.

The New York Times reported:

But in meetings with law enforcement officials in the chaotic days immediately after Mr. Comey’s dismissal, and in subsequent conversations with colleagues and friends, Mr. Rosenstein appeared conflicted, according to the four people. He alternately defended his involvement, expressed remorse at the tumult it unleashed, said the White House had manipulated him, fumed how the media had portrayed the events and said the full story would vindicate him, said the people, who in recent weeks described the previously undisclosed episodes.

According to one person with whom he spoke with shortly after Mr. Comey’s firing, Mr. Rosenstein was “shaken,” “unsteady” and “overwhelmed.”

Rod Rosenstein’s story matters in the Trump obstruction of justice investigation

If the Trump White House manipulated Rosenstein, and a look at the Rosenstein memo that was used as justification for firing Comey leads one to speculate that he was, it will provide more evidence to Mueller that Trump was trying to obstruct justice. If Trump intended to fire Comey for a legitimate reason, his White House wouldn’t have to con Rosenstein into writing a memo that would give them political cover.

The real story, which Mueller probably already has, is likely to be something close to Trump using Rosenstein as justification to fire Comey and then throwing him under the bus. When the real story comes out, it will be a bad day for Donald Trump and a potentially great day for the United States of America.

who may have swallowed the canary? - the feathers were everywhere..like a Cheshire cat...This story seems to make sense...and Rosenstein KNOWS what Mueller has - when Rosenstein told that so-called rep "you really shouldn't rely on news articles - dipshit" I thought I would fall off my chair...at least Rosenstein, who wasn't given the opportunity to talk, at least that got though....

that obvious manipulation? And why would he be fuming at the press when he himself supposedly felt remorse about his actions? Plus, there's this (gag):

Rosenstein praises ‘Lincolnesque’ Trump
Wednesday, May 9, 2018

<<Embattled Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told a Washington audience Sunday that President Donald Trump’s words after last year’s deadly white supremacist march in Charlottesville represented a message of unity that needed to be heard during a divisive period in American history.

Following the murder of a counterprotester by a white nationalist, Trump said, “You had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. … You also had some very fine people on both sides.”

“President Trump recognized last August that no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag and we are all made by the same almighty God,” Rosenstein said at the Anti-Defamation League’s annual leadership summit...

Rosenstein said Trump’s call for more tolerance after the Charlottesville rally resembled President Abraham Lincoln’s 1861 inaugural address. In that speech, the 16th president urged unity despite bitter divisions between the North and the South over slavery.

“Lincoln insisted his opponents were not enemies, because we were all Americans,” Rosenstein said. “He concluded his inaugural address by appealing to the better angels of our nature. President Trump echoed that statement with his remarks last summer of ‘we must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.’”...

“When victims are attacked because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation, there are laws that empower [the Justice Department] to respond,” he said. “Enforcing those laws is important to President Trump and Attorney General Sessions.”>>

The moron has been fuming about that for over a year. I watched cable news and they were discussing this story and they said that the GOP is trying to force Rosenstein out or impeach him for contempt of court if he doesn't turn over all the info that the corrupt GOP is demanding in order to derail the investigation. If Rosenstein or Mueller is ousted over 350,000 people in over 900 cities are ready to his the streets within hours. RESIST!
