that this person will be nominated by Trump for the SC

Trump will deliberately pick the candidate that will make Democrats the most horrified.
He doesn't care about credential. His priority is making Democrats upset and Gowdy would certainly do that.

And Republicans will heartily support anyone Trump submits.
They've stopped trying to govern and have decided to give themselves over to Trump heart and soul. (comments about heart and soul notwithstanding.)
