Meghan McCain: 'I'm never going to forgive' Trump for attacking my father

Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) daughter and "The View" co-host Meghan McCain said she is done accepting "private" apologies from the White House and she will never forgive President Trump and his administration for public attacks on her father.

“[Trump's] comments are never going to be OK with me, especially at this moment in my life. I’m never going to forgive it. I’m never going to move on from it," she said during an interview at the Lyndon B. Johnson presidential library in Austin, Texas, where she accepted the LBJ Liberty and Justice for All Award on behalf of her father.

Trump has mocked John McCain multiple times since his presidential campaign, including since the senator was diagnosed with brain cancer. Most recently, Trump commented on him at a rally last weekend.

Meghan McCain also said that she has ceased taking private phone calls from members of the Trump administration after aide Kelly Sadler, who joked about her father's brain cancer, promised a public apology but never followed through.

"If anyone [at the White House] wants to say anything to me in any way, they have to do it publicly. I don’t take private phone calls from the Trump Administration anymore," McCain said.

The White House was ensnared by controversy earlier this year when The Hill reported that Sadler, a former Washington Times opinion editor who worked on the White House communications staff, reportedly joked about the senator's ailing health during a meeting.

The Republican party has spent decades preparing a voter base that would embrace a Trump, Megan.

Trump mocked your father before the primaries were concluded, and he was the guy your party picked.

but it does not excuse her from defending Dana Loesch. That gal is a cancer far
worse than her father is battling. It's a cancer on our future. Meghan, you go

Now follow through by, say, not voting for Republicans anymore. Or becoming a voice against this administration.

Does Megan deserve a gold star for finding ONE thing that's unforgivable to her? -45 has hurt a whole lot of people a helluva lot worse than he hurt McCain's family. It's too bad that Megan can't see outside her own little selfish world.

Good god, they are working hard to roll back all his civil rights and social justice policies.

On The View last week she said she had friends and family who currently work for the Trump administration. I guess Trump's comments about her father weren't sufficiently harsh enough for them to take a moral stand and quit. I guess the old saying is true..with friends (and family) like these, who needs enemies?

She speaks from both sides of her mouth. Trump said bad things about Daddy so *pout* but she said she doesn't suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome; family and friends work for the administration so don't be mean to them (they are obviously morally superior and always right because "conservative values" ). The two Supreme Court nominees are a big win, there is a lot of winning. Then she claimed to take a centrist position most of the time.

hurting the poor and middle class, banning religions, promoting corruption racism and lies, attacking our allies while becoming pro russia and hugging putin and other terrorist dictators, what he said about her father is nothing compared to his attack on our Democracy. Both her and her Dad should renounce their pass republican party for accepting him and his regime, or they're part of it, and join the Democrats by joining their party against him and this attacks on our country.Until enough switch putting country before party it will get really bad . Loyalty to a dictator over country isn't acceptable from her or her father anymore .
