The US State Department has shelled out the expenses over two visits made to Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire since Trump won the 2016 presidential election
DONALD Trump has spent more than £10,000 of US taxpayers cash on his son Erics trips to his Scottish golf course, documents have revealed.
The revelation comes just two weeks before Trump is set to visit Turnberry as part of a three-day visit to the UK.
Eric Trump has been in charge of his fathers golf resorts since the presidential victory and has visited Scotland numerous times.
Receipt records obtained by the Scotsman came from Property of the People a Washington-based organisation which campaigns for government transparency.
They show the amount spent by the State Department.
On April 6 last year, Eric made the trip which cost the US taxpayer $7,724 (£5,878).
