(706 posts)Especially after they started throwing explosives. They have their own agenda and they are not fighting for us. They are for our side what the alt right, kkk is for the right. Even NPR is reporting that antifa started the violence (in this Portland case).

(15,326 posts)We're talking Nazis...ya' know... the ones that gassed and baked men, women and children... millions of men, women and children....and then made lampshade of the deads skin and necklaces from their teeth.
Anyone who rallies in support Nazis has surrendered their humanity.
If ever there was a class of people that should automatically be subject to "stand your ground"... It's Nazis!
Since our current leadership refuses to stand up and stop coddling the Nazis, someone else has to.
There is NO NAZI appearing in public that shouldn't get punched in the face.
In this case, civility equals acceptance.
And to any DUer who wants to ask the stupid gaslighting question; "what if they treated you like that?"
My answer is; "I'll let you know when I start supporting people who made necklaces out of the teeth of the people they MURDERED"

(22,364 posts)could credibly say they did not believe the Nazis would start another world war and exterminate millions of people.
Nazis in 2018 not only believe this, they support it.

(706 posts)Since our party has demonized every republican as a nazi then you're pretty much saying that 1/2 of America needs their faces punched in if they go out in public. That kind of talk isn't going to help our side.

We see it in the papers every day.
It's not polite, but it's the truth.

(15,326 posts)I'm not sure what party you're talking about, but Democrats haven't demonized ALL Retrumplicans as Nazis... just those Retrumplicans marching under and revering swastikas.
If you're looking for a party that demonized ALL who disagree with them, I suggest you start with the party that has 2,000 radio stations and an entire cable network devoted to nothing but demonizing those that disagree with their political views
Even your math is wrong. Retrumplicans haven't won a majority of votes cast in over 30 years..if I assumed they were all Nazis, it's closer to 42% that need their faces punched in.

(26,355 posts)But proceed to march with Nazis, beat up black people like Nazis, advocate for ethnic cleansing like Nazis...
You know what I call them?
Nazis.

Just about everyone has that uncle, or whatever family member that's a full-on Trumpian racist, who's guaranteed to spout vile shit at Thanksgiving dinner.

(26,355 posts)If you ask me, the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.
At the very least, ball up your fist and give them some free dental work.
They forfeited their right to civil treatment when they started calling for genocide and ethnic cleansing.

(27,115 posts)Antifa is exactly what their name says.
They are anti-fascist.
They are NOT the equivalent of the alt-right and KKK.

(3,635 posts)and non-idelogical, aside from people simply being against fascism.
Just like all stripes of people came together during the civil rights era, all stripes come together to stand against fascism, a threat ultimately to all.
The more theatric Antifa tactics started in Europe, as a way to disrupt the idea that fascism is just another normal ideology, when in reality it is a form of terrorism directed at the most vulnerable.
Antifa says 'no' and stands up to that which obviously the fascist don't like and lash out violently, which Antifa is ready to push back against.

(2,900 posts)Especially when you cited NPR as some bastion of progressive truth in reporting by stating that individuals with an agenda of supporting minority demographics got their asses kicked.
Keep up the good fight on your end! Im sure youre friends will hear all about your do-gooding in the mocha-chaco-bullshit line on Monday morning...
