We promised our voters we would make abortion illegal. Now what do we do?
I have been saying for years the Republican voters don't have the ability to recognize they are being lied to and used by their politicians.
It's fucking crazy. Their politicians just use issues to get their voters angry. They brainwash them.

(4,066 posts)They've taken little parts of it away and premiums have risen as a result. They've blamed that on the existence of the ACA, not the dismantling of it. The dupes believe whatever they say.
In the end they won't replace it with anything but higher private-company premiums and they will say these are due to the ACA having existed and tainted the market with government intervention. This will work because that is what their cult wants to believe.

(4,066 posts)He will just tell them another lie about it and they will go along with it. They are a cult, not a party.
I'm not trying to be disagreeable with you and argue with you at all. You are absolutely right to remember and want to hold him to every promise he made. I just don't think his cult followers are going to do the same.
They already let the wall funding slide and believe that once they pay for it that someway, somehow, Mexico will pay us back. Which is utter nonsense. The ACA lie will be next and then his lie about not cutting Social Security or Medicare will come after that.
I'm sorry if I sound cynical and defeated. Lately, I feel very much defeated and cynical.

And regarding the people that vote for and celebrate getting their healthcare taken away, yes, they are deplorable idiots.
With the birth control options that are available today it won't be the same as back in the day before people had these options for birth control.
If I remember correctly, even back then, they allowed abortion in the case of rape or severe health problems.

(4,379 posts)Don't you get it? They know most Americans do not want it overturned. It will be a political disaster for them and they know it. They used abortion as a get out the vote issue.
