Maureen Dowd's column today. Love the way this candidate characterizes Trump, based on her life experience.

(7,528 posts)A sanitation truck pulled up, said the 28-year-old with the contagious smile and an energy that impressed even the dragon-energy president. The driver reached out his arm to give me a high-five. What that moment tells me is what we did was right. We are touching the hearts of working people. Democrats should be getting high-fives from sanitation truck drivers that is what should be happening in America.
It was a week when the Death Star of Donald Trumps evil galactic Space Force blanketed the earth with darkness.
The president who slipped into office through a tear in the space-time continuum cemented right-wing control over all three branches of government. He further Foxified the White House by offering a top job to Bill Shine, the former Fox News enforcer who oversaw the creepy cover-up of the Roger Ailes-Bill OReilly venery.

(130,895 posts)'The Democrats wandered the capital, looking stunned. It finally seemed to be sinking in that if you insist on putting up presidential candidates who leave voters cold, really bad things can happen.
And through this black miasma, one small corner of the galaxy twinkled, offering hope, restoring an audacity, fight and sense of storytelling that had been atrophying in the Democratic Party.
The Republicans galvanize their base by inciting a lot of fear; they operate on a lot of mythmaking, Ocasio-Cortez said. So we have to have something compelling. We shouldnt be afraid to be bold.
As she told Stephen Colbert, in a line straight out of a J. Lo Cinderella movie, the president from Queens wont know how to deal with a girl from the Bronx.'

(12,858 posts)T is dems ' and HRC's fault. No way media or NYT bear any responsibility!!
Can never forgive her hit pieces on Gore in 2000. Remember her column castigating and ridiculing him for asking a WOMAN for advice?? - oh the HORROR that a presidential candidate would be so weak to ask a woman about something.
Recently the (in)famous SBC preacher John Piper posted the claim that women should never give men directions because the Bible says women are subordinate to men and giving directions is the same as teaching (=being superior).

(5,017 posts)that HRC won the popular vote and the only reason that asshole is in the White House is because of an election system explicitly designed to keep white racist men in power!
Not only is her original quote accurate in this case, a paraphrase of Charlotte Whitton is also true: Whatever [Democrats] do they must do twice as well as [Republicans] to be [win] half as [much]. I'm so tired of it

(28,290 posts)She is deranged. For decades. She is the Kathy Bates character from Misery when it comes to the Clintons (yeah, I first used this simile when the movie was a new release). Yet she still finds new people to buy her poison. On DU no less
