Capital Gazette takes hit at Trump: 'We won't forget being called an enemy of the people'

The staff of the Capital Gazette took a jab at President Trump, days after a gunman opened fired in their newsroom and killed five people.

The staff of the Annapolis, Md., newspaper released a letter on Sunday to thank those who have offered support in the aftermath of the shooting.

“We won’t forget being called an enemy of the people,” the staff wrote. “No, we won’t forget that. Because exposing evil, shining light on wrongs and fighting injustice is what we do.”

Their comment appears to be a thinly-veiled hit at Trump’s use of the phrase to attack members of the media.

Trump has used the term consistently throughout his contentious relationship with the press.

Comments: This quotation has not been found in the writings of Thomas Jefferson. Its earliest known appearance to date is a meme generated in late February 2017. It apparently spread from there to Twitter, with a few usages in March and then a flurry of appearances in late June and July 2017. Its ultimate origin is unknown.

Donald is sending another same message to his followers.

1. This group is dangerous/unpatriotic/enemy of the people (journalists/reporters)
2. One of his alt-righters kills some of them.

Donald and Sarah Huck express their phony ‘thoughts and prayers’ but that message is just for show.
His followers know to ignore it for the real message.
