(52,126 posts)We will not have anything as regimented as Germany had. That particular form of violent enforcement came from their orderly and regimented societal traditions.
America has a more independent and individualistic tradition, so enforcement will come more from lone wolves, mass shooters, bad cops, hackers, doxxers, neighborhood watchers "standing their ground", etc.
More random, stochastic violence.
Not sure which is scarier, actually.
In any event, that oppressive violence has been building for some time now.

(7,673 posts)immigrants, I have been trying to frame this idea but failing -- you put it perfectly: orderly and regimented societal conditions.
But the US is what - 5? 6? -- times bigger than Germany and way more spread out. Yes, I fear white domestic terrorist type violence, but I don't see ongoing bloodbaths.
