FLIPPABLE MAJORITY MAKER: Erin Herbig for ME-SD11
Erin Herbig is currently serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives. She represents House District 97 which includes Belfast, Northport and Waldo. As Maine House Majority Leader, Erin guides the 75 member House Democratic caucus through the legislative session and serves as a leading voice in policy negotiations.
Erin has fought consistently for long lasting investments in Maines rural community and workers statewide.
She was first elected in 2010 and served for four years as the House chair of the Legislatures Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee.
Erin currently serves as chair of the Legislatures Workforce Development Committee which focuses on identifying ways to create better paying jobs across the state. In October and November of 2017, she launched a sixty-stop business tour across Waldo County known as the Waldo County Works Business Tour.
Erin is also co-chair of the Aging Caucus which champions legislation to help Maines seniors and serves as co-chair of the Legislative Councils State House Facilities Committee.
Erin graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1999 and earned a Bachelors degree in English from Boston College in 2003. She worked previously as the Outreach Director for Maine Farmland Trust and preserving our heritage industries remains a high priority for her.
