Celebrate a nice summer day off work.

Like you, I don't feel like doing the supposedly patriotic things.

Volunteer on the 4th. See if they are registering new voters (hopefully Democrats).

Don't grieve. Organize and vote.

It's YOUR country.

Knock on doors, register folks to vote, get out there and celebrate your country.

You're basically saying that the the Trump Administration represents all that is the United States. You're surrendering patriotism to the Republicans and letting them tag Democrats as "anti-American".

It is not the oligarchs' Land. We have to work for it though. Stay strong. Remember what MLK said: “Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

I enjoy the trappings. I love carols, Christmas trees, feasts and Santa, and let my brain just shun the rest. So have a cook-out, swim, watch fireworks, and think ironically what it all used to mean, and WILL MEAN AGAIN in our lifetime.

We need to start taking back the symbols of patriotism. We need to see Independence day as Resistance and Redemption Day this year. We can celebrate the fact that 2/3 of this country still intends to save it.

7. I am going to fly the flag

Fly your flag defiantly!!

I am not going to let the bastards claim ownership to patriotism. My forefathers fought for this country. Although I did not serve in the military, I am going to continue to fight for our freedom.

I have been wondering if we should start flying a blue pennant below the flag to signal our support for the big blue wave along with our patriotism.

You didn't go through all that shit to let four years ruin it all. You can handle it.
It will get better in time. I know it.

if you are a flag flying person. Take some registration forms to your local post office and ask people if they are registered to vote. If not, there you are. Patriotic Keep them and turn them in to the county registrars office. THey may lose them or not fill them out or whatever.

13. We fly our flag every day.
Mon Jul 2, 2018, 12:03 PM

The USA belongs to all of us, not just the party currently in power. Our armed forces salute the flag the same way under Trump as they did under Obama.

But, call it what it is, Independence Day. We celebrate our freedom, which was declared in 1776 and secured by our forefathers in the Revolutionary War.

Don't confuse that with the current political environment.

I read this here now everyday. Yuck.

Defeatist attitude will not bring victory.

The rumpanistas must be happy to see how easily so many of us crumble.

Fuck that noise.

Come on now, buck up!

15. A bottle or two of wine, some pasta salad and garlic bread.

Stay inside, turn off the news, throw a movie or two into the DVD player, or a really, really good book you've been putting off for too long.

A bottle or two of wine, some pasta salad and garlic bread.

A small handful of friends.

That's my celebration. I think it would stay the same regardless of who and what and when and where and, and, and.

I picked blueberries and have made an apple pie. My husband, my sister and I will eat hamburgers and hot dogs as usual. This is as festive as I can be.

I will think of the positives, that here in TN we actually have a choice in Democratic candidates for some offices and that the GOP candidates are attacking each other in their ads.

Happy 4th of July.
