Is Trump's MS-13 rabble rousing backfiring - or going just as planned?

Seems like Trump was trying to sinisterize MS-13 and make it seem like major domestic issue.

But - I've heard a bunch of these illegals on TV claiming it was MS-13 that forced them to leave their country.

Is this backfiring? Did Trump provide/promote the perfect rationale to enter illegally?

This angle might have taken them by surprise.

All it means to his idiot supporters is scary Mexicans, probably wearing oversized sombreros and crossed bandoliers. There doesn't have to be any truth to his fear-mongering, just a willingness to appear scared as justification for whatever crime against humanity the administration wants to pull off.

there isn't one of them lurking at every corner. And they don't have the power to destroy this country. That gig is already taken by the majority party in DC.
