I can't understand all the attention to Murkowski and Collins when their votes

will likely NOT be determinative. From all appearances, Heitcamp, Manchin, Donnelly and possibly McCaskill are already lined up with whoever Trump mominates.

Have I missed something?

ANY REPUBLICAN WHO VOTES “NOT TO” CONFIRM CAN KISS THEIR POLITICAL CAREERS GOODBYE. Read into that what you wish.

and another is dying.

Any Democrats who vote to confirm will also kiss their political careers goodbye. Maybe the Party with it, and the nation soon after.

There are a number of Democrats who would be willing to vote "no" IF it looked like the nomination could be stopped (i.e., if two Republicans were going to abstain or vote "no" ). Once it looks like we'll lose, they're free to vote "yes" in order to keep from hurting their own electoral chances.

I read where those 4 senators are going to be relentlessly targeted by the left to vote with their party.
