What is Michael Cohen's end game?

Is he looking for a pardon?

Is he looking for money to pay his legal bills?

Or is he simply looking for the best deal he can get from the prosecutors, knowing that they have the goods on him?

It also might be significant that they turned over all the seized documents to the Feds yesterday?

Is he trying to send a message to Donald Trump?

Pretty clear.

many of the things he said in the interview. The legal talking heads think he's trying to salvage his reputation (not that he ever had one) and that he just can't stand not talking. He is almost certain to flip at this point, but since the prosecutors aren't finished going through all the documents they aren't ready yet to charge him.

During those times the only people left around us are family. Maybe the guy has realized how the loyalty game really works. He has been with Trump for a very very long time. He probably had it built in to his mind that he was different than the rest. That loyalty flowed both ways between he and Trump. I'm pretty sure he now understands that is not the case and he is surrounded by only family and lawyers. A real wake up call.

That said, I think his recent comments were directed toward Trump for different reasons than most think. He is letting Trump know that the documents being turned over spell out a lot and there was nothing he could do. That part is a done deal and he can't lie their way out of it.

same day as Judge cleared docs for sharing with Prosecutors.

If there is any "order", i.e., non-chaos, to this world.

He knows that Mueller has something really bad on Trump. I think it has something to do with Trump's days as an FBI informant.

He never signed up to be a president's personal attorney, but once you're in, you're in.

He's trying to put off cooperation until the very last possible second, in hopes that a pardon will keep him out of jail. He's just trying to cut the best deal he can, and none of the options look great.

He's probably not screaming threats at anyone these days, so at least that smugness is gone.
