Penn State's Joe Paterno was nicknamed JoePa.

After the child sex abuse scandal involving his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky broke in full in November 2011, Paterno announced that he would retire at the end of the season. He was an assistant wrestling coach during a period where the team doctor has been accused of sexually abusive behavior. Jordan claims he was unaware, but at least one wrestler says he told Jordan.
