And Broidy offered to "somehow stop the US Justice Department" from investigating these connections for a mere $75M fee.

Since the Prime Minister and his wife stole something like $4.5B from the fund... I guess Broidy thought that $75M for this service would be OK... my guess is that Broidy was only going to get a small fraction of this amount... and you know who (someone that could actually stop a DOJ investigation) would make off with the balance while helping his "good friend" the Prime Minister.
