A Civil War mural
My father once told me this story. IIRC it's from the late 40s, back when he was a grad student in physics
He took a day trip to DC and spent some time looking at a mural of the Civil War. My father liked details, so he busied himself, trying to sort out who was who in the mural. Another visitor helped him with one of the figures, a Confederate general who turned out to be that person's grandfather. They chatted a while. The Confederate general's grandson felt strongly that the correct side had won our Civil War
So I don't hold descendants responsible for a person's crimes
I don't much like Richard Shelby. I don't much like Vyacheslav Nikonov either, since he ridiculed the American intelligence community .. saying it "slept through while Russia elected a new U.S. president." And I am unhappy that Shelby is meeting with Nikonov and similar people away from the eyes of the press
But my unhappiness here has nothing to do with the fact that Nikonov is Molotov's grandson, which seems to me a distraction
