. . . to intervene and control the actions of the (like it or not) elected President?

What do we call that when it occurs in other countries? Doesn't that more or less amount to the sort of thing that the right wing, Alex Jones-loving troglodytes are always claiming is being plotted by the "Deep State"?

. . . that it begins to lose its force and value, no?

And so as to illustrate, I might suggest that people who advocate that the U.S. military constrain the actions of the U.S. President, no matter who he or she may be, and not matter how abominable his or her actions in office may be, are the ones skirting very close to the line of "treason."

See how that works?

And while I post quite infrequently here, you might note that I've been a member on DU since 2003.

fire just about everyone in the Executive Branch with the exception of the Vice President and a few others. He can fire any member of the military at a whim. So these folks have no constitutional power to stop him. No matter what he is planning.

If the President is planning bad acts, in the short term the only folks who can stop him are the Vice President and cabinet working together if they invoke the 25th amendment. In the long term stopping him requires impeachment.

Asking the top brass of the military to stop him is silly. They would be fired so fast and out the door they wouldn’t know what hit them.

I don’t give a rats ass if he goes in by himself, since he will only want to talk about himself, and hasn’t paid a lick of attention to reams of intelligence reports... but he shouldn’t be allowed to bring these materials in with him. They are not his personal property!

He was bragging and crowing about firing Comey and they were all yukking it up!

Then the big-mouthed fucker revealed CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to them! American Press weren't allowed in, only the Russian press. Why was that? That's beyond outrageous!

Just out of the blue he starts blabbing away because, as you said, he has to brag and talk about himself, how much he knows and how SMART he is. He's like an eight year old telling his friends, "Guess what I know? I know stuff that YOU don't! So ha ha on YOU!"

It's absolutely terrifying.

As I posted earlier, can Congress do anything? Can a law be passed that forbids this treasonous asshole from being alone with Putin?

I think I'll call my Congress members and express my grave concerns! I don't know what else to do....

He doesn’t read or listen to or retain or care about anything that is not related to him directly, and he will only talk about himself. But he can’t be allowed to bring in any briefcases or electronics that could contain classified materials.

as I could throw him. I trust Putin even less. Donald is a blathering idiot who's nothing but putty in Putin's hands.

Uncle Vlad can play with him like a cat with a mouse (right before the kill).

Is there any way a law can be passed by Congress to forbid it?

He's GOT to be stopped. I'm absolutely terrified...
