We have to concentrate on all local elections to protect the right to choose
This year we're showing ourselves that Dems can win in areas where we never thought possible. The meantime will be cruel and deadly as older Americans like myself well know from living in the pre-Roe era. But there should be so much motivation for gotv efforts at the least. This November should be the dawn of our major push back to his choice of a justice.
Makes me wonder just how society will look in a few years. We fought for and gained a right after a history of not having it at all. A major female right will be taken away in too many states with an empowered religious right seeking to go further to remove the rights to birth control. I believe that some major sized poo will be hitting the fan.
Oddly, from time to time this past week I've had the fantasy pop into my head that one of the right wingers on the court will go against what's expected. It's a brief, pleasantly ridiculous thought even though justices selected by Republican presidents have gone against the expected grain from time to time.
