by Aidan McLaughlin | 5:41 pm, July 4th, 2018
Former Ohio State Wrestler Mike DiSabato appeared on CNN Wednesday afternoon after Rep. Jim Jordan again denied allegations he knew about sexual abuse at the university.
DiSabatos allegations prompted an investigation at OSU earlier this year and were the subject of an NBC News report in which he claimed Jordan who served as an assistant wrestling coach ignored sexual abuse of wrestlers by the teams doctor, Richard Strauss.
After detailing instances of the abuse, CNNs Brooke Baldwin asked DiSabato about the specific times he claims to have told Jordan about the doctors behavior.
These conversations were not individual conversations, DiSabato said. They were conversations with a group of athletes who were complaining on a regular basis, not only about Dr. Strauss but the conditions within Larkins hall that forced us to take showers with not only Dr. Strauss, but other university faculty members and professors who had access to our shower facility, and on a daily basis were involved in lewd acts that included public masturbation [and] excessive soaping of their groin area.

(5,591 posts)sexual abuses to continue unchecked or even addressed, he basically condoned it. He is accountable.
It by the way happens in educational institutions all over and at levels beginning in middle school.
The local school district where my children attended school and participated in sports eventually arrested, prosecuted and jailed an assistant boys basketball coach who had actively been preying on younger, more vulnerable players for years. Once the children got older and began talking, the community, stunned but determined, rallied around the students until justice was served. The support and feedback from other school districts/families came from all over other states who had gone through the same nightmares.
The ripple effect of accomplices caused several other adults in the system to become efficiently unemployed for their silence and denials.

(959 posts)is gerrymandered beyond belief, and does not contain one urban area. It is nw Ohio, rural, and full of disgruntled factory workers. Doubt anything will move them to dump the jerk; only thing would be the strong Buckeye love, and the fact that OSU athletes were the abused. Maybe, but it's doubtful.
