A good time to take a look back at just WHY WE HAVE HEARINGS on nominees! Talk about a failure of the advise and consent process. Who could have foreseen this? Corrupt. Susceptible to influence. Hostile towards the environment. Dishonest. And now gone in disgrace. Who ever could have predicted it would end this way. In all honesty it wasn't that hard to forecast. How in God's name did the senate confirm this creep in the first place.

(51,432 posts)He should be going to jail for the rest of his life. Maybe he will find the "civility" in jail more to his liking than a young mother at a restaurant. He is the Corrupt Creature From the Black Lagoon (oil that is).

(2,419 posts)in my classes for three semesters. It demonstrates so much about what is wrong with the Trump Administration. The senate hearing process, the corporate influence over government, the lack of character of the candidate, the betrayal of the Founding Fathers who distrusted the power of corporations and moneyed interests all in one powerful 10 minute presentation. He revealed exactly what kind of administrator he was going to be in his confirmation hearings and then proceeded to fulfill that promise, in a very bad way, during his tenure. "Who could have predicted..." indeed. To paraphrase former Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green-He was who we thought he was.
