David Cay Johnston just posted on DU urging action

11. ACT, don't hope -- from David Cay Johnston

The post above misses the point from my many Tweets today.

If you want action then pick up the phone and call Gov. Cuomo and demand that he act. And when the operators tell you that unless you are a NY resident they don't care tell them you will vote against him if he runs for president. Or give them a NY zip code (14607 is in Rochester, 10018 in midtown Hell's Kitchen Manhattan).

My Tweets @DavidCayJ have Cuomo's number. So does our Action Box at DCReport along with other contacts: https://www.dcreport.org/2018/07/05/johnston-in-the-ny-times-how-to-make-trumps-tax-returns-public/

Take action if you want change. Call, email, organize others to do the same and then get people registered to vote and to the polls. But blogging about something giving hope -- no wonder the minority party is in power.

progressives did in 2016, and not vote for the Democratic nominee in 2016 by either voting third party or not voting.

There is no F**King excuse for that

Either you are an adult and realize what the stakes are, or you haven't grown up

The time to do something was 2016.

Every Democrat running for Senate in those critical swing states lost to the incumbent, establishment, republican

We will see in November 2018 just how many people vote

help to ensure that the NY AG can proceed with criminal investigation based on Trump's charity "fraud". Right now, all she can do is investigate "ethical" violations but Cuomo CAN direct her to proceed further. It is a quirk of NY State charity law. We can actually help in this. NOW and not just in November.

There are links upstream to explain further.

further information for a criminal investigation all you want, but if people think this will be the straw that breaks the camels back, or the Mueller investigation, or some other impropriety will take this guy down, I think they are being naïve to say the least.

It is pretty apparant by now the only way trump is going to be taken down is by the voters, and November 2018 will be be the deciding factor what happens

Why would you want to discourage these efforts? No one said this single effort would take him down, but it certainly won't hurt to expose him.

I don't get your comments at all on this. Do you WANT to discourage these efforts? Do you have issues with David Caye Johnson that we should know about? Just feeling cynical?

there are going to be so many legal obstacles and delays to indict a sitting President, I sure wouldn't bank on it.

To me it is the voters who need insure we take back Congress in order for something realistically to happen.

did say if people want to ACT and change things, realistically the way to do that is to VOTE.

47% of the voting public did not vote in 2018

If people want to push CUMO to have the AG to order a criminal investigation to trump, that is fine, but I think people are fooling themselves if they think trump will be taken down by this. The way trump will be taken down is by the VOTERS, and November 2018 will be that first step

make excuses for trump by broadcasting sports on 6 limbaugh stations.

how many votes is that worth?

how many votes is it worth if new yorkers tell syracuse to look for apolitical alternatives to broadcast sports on and they start that? that means advertisers will head for the hills.

the cons need those stations to excuse trump, attack those putting pressure on them, and enabling dems to resist opposing him.

immediate state-specific action. This isn't a routine thread reminding people to vote. I encourage all to read the postings made by David Cay Johnston and which are linked in the oP to understand the issue.
