Thailand cave rescue PANIC as rescuers pump water BACK INTO cavern

doesn't look like the authorities have a good control of the situation. there are a lot of volunteers but doesn't seem to be much coordination .

<THE THAILAND cave rescue has descended into farce after rescuers accidentally pumped water back into the cavern in which a group of young footballers are trapped.

Pumps have been used during the rescue in an attempt to lower the water level and allow the trapped kids to float to safety using life jackets.

The footballers, aged between 11 and 16, and their 25-year-old coach, were found alive by divers after nine days lost in the Thamg Luang cave network.

But Tham Luang operation commander Narongsak Osotthanakorn said unregistered volunteers had been diverting water back into the ground in the belief they were helping.

He said: “They may have some belief that their technique is effective for ground water drainage, but anything that is not in the plan must be discussed with us first.”>

1. they need a team of maybe 12 to 20 professionals

led by someone like General Honore (of Katrina fame)... someone that can command, who will remain calm, and who has a plan.

In diving we have a saying... "Plan the Dive, Dive the Plan".

This rescue has to be run that way...

They have already killed one rescue diver.

2. they do have professionals but seems like there are issues

with the politicians who know nothing about this but are more concerned about how they appear. i think the governor had claimed the boys might be out in a week and he has been moved away to somewhere else and no longer in charge.

and a lot of people are going there to help . i'm sure many are experts but you still need to coordinate on how to do things. some might think they are an expert but not when it comes to dealing with this specifically.

3. Has the US offered help?

What about other countries? It seems like they have a lot of support, but perhaps could use more.

I don't know that the US offers much in the way of help, anymore

5. there are many offering help but the issue isn't lack of assistant offered by others

it seems to be a political issue with Thailand politicians . maybe there is too much pride and they don't want outsiders getting credit for the rescue.

7. This problem identified, corrected.

It's not a farce.

But a highly skilled Thai navy diver just died when he lost consciousness on the way out of the caves after delivering oxygen. It's unclear why he ran out of oxygen himself, but his death helps illustrate just how dangerous that passage is.

Elan Musk has offered the services of his tunnel construction company (apparently he has one of those too). Torrential rains are feared.
