On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter published a strange piece about a secretive anti-abortion movie currently filming under a fake title in New Orleans.
The story, told primarily from the perspective of the films writer-director-producers Nick Loeb and Cathy Allyn, revealed that the title of the project is Roe v. Wade; that it chronicles the 1973 Supreme Court decision that guaranteed a womans right to an abortion; that it has a pro-life tilt; that the conservative pundit Stacey Dash will play Mildred Jefferson, a founder of the National Right to Life Committee; and that several other outspoken conservative actors are portraying Supreme Court justices, including Jon Voight and Robert Davi, along with Corbin Bernsen, John Schneider, Richard Portnow, Wade Williams, William Forsythe, and Steve Guttenberg. Filming reportedly began on June 15 and hopes to wrap by July 15.
THRs piece also cast the filmmakers as victims, detailing their struggles to secure filming locations and keep ahold of cast and crew who objected to the PG-rated films pro-life tilta particularly hot-button issue in light of Justice Kennedys recently-announced retirement and the precarious state of Roe v. Wade.
What the THR piece failed to disclose is why the cast and crew of Roe v. Wade have been dropping like flies out of the project, as well as the project's true natureincluding several graphic scenes depicting aborted fetuses, according to several crew members who spoke to The Daily Beast on the condition of anonymity, fearing reprisals.

Too bad their dads didn't use condoms or their mothers didn't take birth control.

(46,020 posts)already made. And it wouldn't have been an endorsement of the Supreme Court case that memorialized her saga to safe and legal abortion.
Norma had a change of heart and mind after jawboning after a spell with Flip Benham, the head of Operation Rescue. She repudiated her standing as a plaintiff and the decision of Roe. (BTW, by the time the case was decided, Norma already had her baby.)
I could imagine a documentary that Trump and Co. would adore, with her calling for the iconic case to be overturned as soon as possible to save the lives of countless prospective babies. She would be a RW hero, adored and revered. And unprecedented. You wouldn't expect someone like Carrie Buck to publicly endorse governmental sterilization after her fight (which she lost).

(36,823 posts)It stars Kirk Cameron as a fictional version of himself. In Saving Christmas, Cameron, after explaining his views on Christmas directly to the audience, tries to convince his fictional brother-in-law, played by the film's director, that Christmas is still a Christian holiday. The film combines a comedic narrative with educational elements, in order to "put Christ back in Christmas";[7][8] it says that most of Christmas' popular elements are biblical in origin, while criticizing the modern-day view of the holiday, especially from atheists. During the story, the film depicts some of the biblical events mentioned by Cameron, while he provides narration for the audience.
The film received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was nominated in six categories for the 35th Golden Raspberry Awards and "won" four, including Worst Picture. It also reached #2 on the IMDb Bottom 100 List within one month of its theatrical release, and is now considered one of the worst films of all time.[9][10] Cameron blamed atheists for the film's poor reception.[11]
