Let's take a deep breath and cut through some BS.

There's an election in November to decide whether Trump should continue his total control of our government.

Trump has been and continues to be the most incompetent and amoral leader in US history.

There are NO Republicans willing to oppose anything that Trump commands, no matter how stupid or dangerous or harmful to our country it may be.

If we, the people, do not retake control of Congress this fall, serious and intelligent people are not certain that our Democratic form of government can survive.

Trump is an existential threat to us, our children, our grandchildren. We need to act like it.

..."Win the Midterms by Getting Out The Vote."

We're not going to ask Putin or any other oligarch for help. Also I would rule out murder, terrorism and nuclear war. By the numbers, the Democrats should win every election by working hard, honing our message, and getting out the vote.

Have they already been bought off like trump and the republicans in Congress? Did the Citizens united ruling allowed putin to infiltrate our election process with his dark money , then corrupt others to further the undermining of our Democracy. Hope Mueller is looking into some of those justices , especially Kennedy, and Gorsuch, and the late justice that passed away unexpectedly .

The plots to destroy progressive liberalism in government were deep seated and very well organized and funded long before Trump ran for office.

Though their destabilizing influences caused the Republican voters' populist revolt that accidentally lead to Trump's election, Trump is, like a refrigerator that hums along most of the time and only occasionally shuts off and spoils the milk, now basically doing their work.

and directed the Tea Party. They were reportedly inspired by the tobacco industry's weaponization of populist resentments to oppose government interference in their pushing of nicotine addiction, so why not the Kremlin.

Putin, of course, was already an expert in weaponizing populism in Russia and Europe, as well as quashing out-of-control populist movements as necessary.

Just like the Nazi party after WWII had to be annhilated, so that some new German parties that were decent and clean could be rebuilt. When the Dems retake the House next Jan, I hope the Speaker re-establishes a new House Unamerican Activities Committee. It's time to hunt for some witches.

...Donald J. tRump* IS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER to the United States of America. For all practical purposes, the Congressional GOP members are ACCOMPLICES AND TRAITORS, having violated their oats to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of American, against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. For the most part, the Republican members of Congress ARE the domestic enemies the Founders warned us about.

This. We are in a crisis situation in this country. The problem is that far too many people don't realize it. How do we make them aware? Billboards? Leaflets? TV Ads? Most people are not as aware as those of us here on DU. They don't see the danger.

That's the way it is now anyway. There might be a time in the future where this isn't the case but at this specific point in time, the way things are, it is. If you vote for anyone other than the Democratic candidate in any race, you're voting for Trump. If you don't vote, you're voting for Trump.

And I say this as a supporter of the Independent Senator from Vermont.

But we need to assume we will win back the House. And be ready for the next stage. Ready to combat all the fake news, not get too wild eyed and arrogant. That would be only the first step back towards sanity. From this point forward their will be increasingly brazen conspiracies against us and hard RW media attacks. Not just Faux News and RW radio, but Sinclair is set to take over 75% of the nation's local News stations.

By saying assume I'm not trying to dampen down voter participation. But if we do what we set out to do in the mid terms, there may be a tendency to have a big party and get a false sense of security. We cannot relent until we have a majority in both houses and the White House. Because the right will double down on their lies and call to Arms to their base.
