But the press is covering this like it's a good thing. I understand that companies need a pool of qualified employees but if unemployment keeps ticking up and wages remain flat. I can't see how they can tout this as economic growth.

The bad is that ignorant white wingers will say trump did it, which is not true. But if more people are getting jobs and feel better about things, that is good. Clearly flat wages at the moment is not good.
It's tough listening to trump take credit, but that is just the way it is right now. Most folks know the truth, although many don't care about truth.

(25,111 posts)had numerous excuses, but the topping was that the Bush Administration forget to mention tons of money lost . . . and by the time Americans realized that a recession had kicked in, it was toooooooooooooooo late to the tune of losing jobs, losing their homes, cars, etc, or couldn't pay rent . . . .
And guest what, many of the same people who went through this or their parents or relatives and friends, they voted GOP in 2016.
