General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI am watching a really scary TV series about a modern Russian occupation.
It's called "Occupied" and it's on Netflix. Max Boot just mentioned it in his op-ed, "Trump wants to Finlandize the United States," https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/trump-is-pushing-the-atlantic-alliance-to-the-breaking-point/2018/06/30/c054f0dc-7c8e-11e8-80be-6d32e182a3bc_story.html?utm_term=.4bae6bc0a419. He says,
Here's another review:
So I started watching it; it's well-done and it's scaring me - not that Russia could occupy the US in exactly the same way (although it could take over the Baltic countries or others, which is what worries Max Boot - and part of the story is that the US has withdrawn from NATO), but the moral corrosion part hits home. Have a look.

(797 posts)(also a Falcons fan) .... My perspective on this series radically changed after the 2016 election. Kind of eerie, so to speak.

(10,811 posts)I was glad Netflix brought it back for another season. Chilling, too, when you consider what's going on right now--how the 'free' world might fare after the United States is kicked and/or has kicked itself to the sidelines.
Not pretty!

(90,225 posts)... happening in the series (which is VERY binge worthy, carve out some hours).
The PM in the series is loved while America's president is loathed.
If the Russians wanted to do such in the US it would've been safer to do it under Obama.
The Russians want to drag America down like the USSR in the 90s which I think the older Russians in the secret services still blame America at the least for the economic turmoil.

(115,280 posts)46 weeks of parental leave at 100 per cent of pay, or 56 weeks at 80 per cent of pay. Up to 14 weeks of this leave can be taken by the father. And after that you can send your child to a partially-subsidized barnehage (kindergarten) until the child is 6, when school is compulsory (and free). College tuition is also free.
Damn socialists.
