A new Washington Post-Schar School poll finds President Trumps approval rate at 43%. But theres a huge gender gap in the numbers: 32% of women approve of his job performance, compared to 54% of men.
The poll also gives Democrats a 10-point advantage on the generic congressional ballot, 47% to 37%.

(63,221 posts)I am in Boston and I agree. Most women I encounter here can't stand him. Where are all these women? Are there really that many women in the south and midwest to offset urban, minority and blue-state women? I just have a hard time buying this.

(63,221 posts)Boston for 6 (lived here after college for 8) and did a stint in SF for about 6 years, so I have always lived in very liberal areas. I am so used to being amongst a liberal majority. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by deplorables. I really think I would lose my mind!

(4,112 posts)Getting him to put on a suit for a wedding or other special event is a battle. Kind of incongruous for him to wear dockers when I'm wearing a satin ballgown, but it doesn't mean he won't try to get away with it! LOL

(128,529 posts)You have seen some of the posts of the videos of the variety of idiot women who have been arrogantly scolding and calling the cops on AAs? And those incidents are just the ones that managed to get picked up by some outlet or blog site when an incident just so happened to have even been recorded and posted on social media. How many incidents like that are not recorded on the spot, let alone posted?
They are out there. And it's not just in the south or midwest. They are everywhere. Remember the one here in Philly at the Starbucks? Or a new one I just found - in the Portland, OR surburbs -

A black state representative canvassing a neighborhood in her own district was stopped by a police officer, after a woman dialed 911 to report that she was going door to door.
Representative Janelle Bynum (D), who is running for her second term in the Oregon State House of Representatives, spent two hours on Tuesday afternoon canvassing the community of Clackamas, near Portland.
According to the Oregonian, Bynum had nearly finished her rounds when a Clackamas county deputy pulled up next to her. The deputy explained to Bynum that theyd received a report that someone was spending a long time in the neighborhood and appeared to be taking notes about the houses on her phone.
<...>
Bynums ordeal is only the latest example of police receiving ridiculous 911 calls that complain about African-Americans engaging in completely benign and harmless activity. Last week, police in Cleveland received a 911 call about a 12-year-old African-American boy mowing a lawn. Earlier in June, a San Francisco woman faked a 911 call to complain about an eight-year old African-American girl selling water on the sidewalk. After the incident went viral the woman apologized but said the incident had nothing to do with race.

Cops called on the woman who actually represents the district that the neighborhood is located in. The article claims the race of the caller was not identified but the town of Happy Valley, OR where the rep lives is less than 1% black, and the county where the district is located is also less than 1% black, so....

(63,221 posts)very well hidden. But I think most of the women I know are pretty hardcore liberals or at least decent people. There are some women at work that I think are republican, but I happen to know that they can't stand Trump. They are traditional republicans and don't feel like Trump and his hatred represents them.
