The TD off the Carolina coast doesn't really look like much. Air pressure is high, winds aren't too wild. Not that much rain. I got my data from Ventusky.com.

(268,986 posts)Once a hurricane is in my neighborhood, we're paying attention -could be nothing, could be something so we'll be ready and warn those around. Rain and flooding could be a problem for the TD because they say it will stay around for a while.

(7,809 posts)when Hurricane Bonnie hit. It wasn't anything but a bit of rain in Raleigh, but the whole eastern third of the state got flooded really badly. I helped the local offices rebuild their physical records from the database because their files were destroyed.
Even relatively small hurricanes, tropical depressions, and storms can cause havoc.
