Things to remember before @realDonaldTrump travels to Europe:
-Russia is the aggressorUkraine is the victim
-Crimea belongs to Ukraine
-NATO & US troops in Europe serve our national interests
-Europeans must spend more on defense
-Putin's track record shows he can't be trusted
A RW thinktank is telling trump this? " Putin can't be trusted?
I was under the impression that Heritage Fdn was supplying ideas to trump.

(31,261 posts)When socalled conservative republicans laid side by side with the rotten smelling Frankenstein experiment of racism, mysogony, LGBTQ hatred, only one outcome was possible if they lay there long enough (and they did), the monster would come alive and consume them.

JULY THIRD 2018:
The Senate Intelligence Committee strongly backed the finding by U.S. intelligence agencies that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a campaign to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, ultimately intending to help Donald Trump win.
The committee concurs with intelligence and open-source assessments that this influence campaign was approved by President Putin, the panel said Tuesday in a report that endorsed as sound the intelligence findings issued in January 2017. The committee said there was a body of intelligence to support the assessment that Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for Trump.

(13,520 posts)Tariffs are taxes
-Taxes are bad
-Tariffs have a history of being unsuccessful
-Tariffs are widely regarded for having turned what could have been a mild recession into the Great Depression
Stop with the tariffs.
NATO is a political military alliance; financial commitments reflect their political will which may be even more important how many troops they can put on the ground. NATO is vital to the peace and security of the transatlantic community.
Again, I say,

(11,949 posts)There is one place most Americans and even most republicans will not go...pulling out of NATO. That would split the party beyond repair.
They are afraid that is exactly where Trump is heading. His 👄 breathing rubes would follow. But it may well cost them the Senate as well as the House.

Some good things do come out of right wing think tanks.
I'm not saying it is all good.
But sometimes sane conservatives have good ideas.
But Trump isn't a Conservative, he's a Trumpian.
In this one tweet I mostly agree with. Except the spending on defence. Europe spends enough. I'd rather the extra money go to social programmes.
