(58,785 posts)to use our military. We know that. Why have it if we're not going to use it? He was speaking of nuclear bombs with that famous question, of course, but he's insisting on increasing our conventional military budget, even though many military experts say it's not needed.
I'm seriously also wondering if Putin's been doing some troublemaking horse-whispering in Trump's ear... Suggesting some version of carving up the planet between them?

(64,920 posts)when they said that three Brazilian soldiers were killed defending their border.
tRump got very quiet and a bit more Orange and looked at all of the staff members.
The staff members were all shocked at his reaction, but didn't know what to do...
tRump finally asked Steve Douche on F&F "how much is a brazillion". Steve Douche thought for what seemed to be hours on national TV before saying "something that needs to be kicked out of the US".

(7,725 posts)to make himself appear as if he's really in tune with/has his finger on the pulse of...world events. Fake it until you make it. He never thought he would be president. This is all OJT. If you ever doubt you can do a job you apply for...see dt. Say yes, then fake it til you make it. If this ahole can do it to the top job in the world....anyone can fumble through a corporate job (or whatever.). AND, really, an employer has no grounds to get upset (unless you applied for a job at Fort Detrick or Plum Island et al)

(12,608 posts)All of this 'liberate' the people bullshit has been said for years. Why the hell does Trump care about how people are treated in any Latin American country? If he is going to 'liberate' a country from oppression he can go to Central America and take care of that. If those people were actually liberated they could stay in their country and would not have to trek up to the U.S. seeking asylum. There, I solved his immigration issue.

Venezuela, for all the misery inflicted by the Chavistas, is not like Spanish-held Cuba was in 1898. That the Venezuelans would probably resist is a thought that doesnt seem to have occurred to him.

Off-topic, does anyone remember the old canard Democrat wars and Republican recessions?
That seemed to have some truth until Desert Storm.
Then Dubya proved that you can have wars AND recessions while a Republican is in the White House.
I guess the Thump wants to have his turn.
