(108,955 posts)This is Cathy Myers, and I just wanted to introduce myself today, she says into a few answering machines. Im a high school English teacher and Im on the Janesville School Board. Im also running for Congress against Paul Ryan, and Id love to talk with you about how we can beat him in 2018.
Myers, 55, is dialing Michigan numbers today. She reaches a few people who say theyre donating to candidates in their home state, but theyre interested in supporting efforts to oust the Republican speaker of the House. Bryce has found the same to be true; Tur noted that more of that $1.2 million haul came from donors in New York and California than from Wisconsin wallets.

(108,955 posts)I think she is just as strong a candidate, but without the baggage.
And I'd rather this get aired during the primaries than have the R's surprise us with this in the general.
And this, from the CNN article in the OP:
Bryce's time in the political spotlight has brought out some unflattering aspects of his past, including the revelation that he was two-and-a-half months delinquent on paying child support to his ex-wife in September 2015, and it took nearly two years for him to pay it off. And this week, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Bryce blamed unions for many people thinking that unions are useless and and outdated because, he said, "The labor movement has become lazy."
