He previously worked for conservative U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, a Champaign County Republican.

Ohio legislator Wes Goodman led secret gay life, made unwelcome advances to younger men, people who knew him say

WASHINGTON - In public, Wesley Goodman was an up-and-coming conservative who championed pro-family and anti-LGBT causes and aspired to someday run for Congress.

In private, he exchanged salacious texts and emails with gay men he met on Capitol Hill, and sent sexually suggestive messages to young men he met through conservative circles who were too intimidated to publicly complain, according to three people who knew him when he worked in Washington.

Goodman's double life ended this week when he resigned from the Ohio legislature after House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger was alerted to Goodman's involvement in "inappropriate behavior" with a man in his state office in Columbus.

Franken had apologized for any hurt caused, and had volunteered to put himself before the ethics committee, Secondly, the woman involved in the most serious allegation, said she didn't want Franken to lose his job. Thirdly, there were credible suspicions that this was a RW hit job. Fourthly, you again mention the 38 Senators, as if putting Gillibrand in this group, spreads the blame. No, she was not the 38th, she was the FIRST. That forced the other 2020 contenders to follow suit, as well as the Inbetweeners. She didn't have to do what she did, and I have seen many posters here who saw through her actions, and will never forgive her for that. That's kinda where it stands.

Edit : Just to add I think few would favour someone who jumped the gun, for political gain, but we'll see in the 2020 primaries. Oh, and I wonder how her relationship with the Clintons is going, as she had a go at Bill as well.

I will never forget. I will never forgive. Her rush to judgment and being leader of the pack to oust him is a permanent stain on an otherwise good career. It's a big stain that she can never overcome IMO.

She weakened the Senate immeasurably.

My impression was that while Kirsten Gillibrand was jumping in front of the cameras, he was the one working behind the scenes forcing the issue. If he came out and insisted that Al Franken should be allowed to go through the ethics hearing process, there wouldn't have been the piling on that occurred. But Chuck Schumer, for whatever reason, was more than willing to stab Al Franken in the back. Kirsten Gillibrand was just the knife that he used.

He rolled over and didn't put up a fight against the accusations. All his behavior has done is allow his 'supporters' to attack Gillibrand and claim they'll never forget. There are a lot of things I'll never forget, and one is some Duers piling on Gillibrand.

I don't even care that he had a closeted gay man working for him, none of my business, but I do sense that Jordan is hiding something big. Personally, I hope that he hide it until late in October when another repug can't replace him on the ballot, then I want it to blow up in his face, and I hope that it is something that makes him look like a total creep.

He was an assistant coach and would have likely went to the head coach to report anyway. But, his over the top denials of any knowledge and public attacks on some of the wrestlers lead me to believe there is more that is much more damaging to the image that he tries to portray than not speaking up when he should have.

It is dumbfounding to think that Jordan was not aware of the activities of one of those people. It would not surprise me that Jim Jordan is a deeply conflicted gay man, I had a girlfriend once whose mom had an affair and lived with another woman, the family was deeply religious, her mom swore up an down that she was not bisexual.
Jordan coming from what appears to be a very conservative and likely religious part of Ohio would add to him not wanting to be outed, IMO. But with things like that, the truth comes out at some point. If Jordan is gay, there will likely be lovers that will open their mouths at some point, likely after he has been weakened. He has made a lot of enemies, even among republicans, not a good circumstance for hiding a secret.
