Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is calling on Special Counsel Robert Mueller to subpoena both President Donald Trump and his Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Rep. Schiff’s tweet came in response to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s latest song and dance avoidance of having his client sit down and interview with Robert Mueller. Giuliani offered up a laughable claim that he and Trump aren’t trying to dodge Mueller until after the midterm elections when it is clear that they are doing everything that they can think of to make sure that the President Of The United States will not talk to the man who is investigating him for collusion with Russia during the 2016 election, obstruction of justice, and who knows how many potential financial crimes.

Trump will lie to Mueller, and there is also a high probability that he will incriminate himself.

If Democrats win control of the House in November, it will be Adam Schiff will be leading the House Russia investigation. Trump is a president on borrowed time because if Robert Mueller doesn’t get him, there is a good chance Rep. Schiff will.

Mueller is playing a high stakes game. He probably could care less about his job and cares everything about USA democracy in crisis. He has to have as much as possible completed before every tricky stage, of which there are several. I'm sure he has a massive report ready to release at any moment, which is being constantly revised. I think it would be on a kind of "dead hand switch" such that if he were removed or action taken to terminate the investigation it would be released. Plus the sealed indictments: there are several that were issued at the same time same court as key indictments against Manafort and others; they would probably be unsealed automatically if the investigation were about to be shut down.

The three adult children involved plus Kushner might push tRump over the edge.

Kelly would probably invoke WH "executive privilege", or have it invoked, on his behalf. That would lead to a protracted court fight which might be a reason to subpoena him sooner than later. But Mueller is connecting so many dots that it might not be necessary.

,throughout the investigation, Mueller has been completely independent, impartial, and above being influenced by anyone, including Congress. He operates his own way and on his own timetable.

We should expect nothing less.

I don't believe Susan Collins is going to vote against Trump's nominee (whoever that is).

And, (and this is equally painful) I don't believe that the Republican controlled Senate will vote to remove Trump from office, regardless of what crimes Mueller finds and what impeachment charges are brought by the House.

We are screwn, and we were screwn the moment the electors cast their votes on December, 19 2016.

The only late-stage satisfaction I can hope for at this point is the conviction and incarceration of Trump after he's out of the Oval Office.

That’s the only way we can take back the House and put people like Adam Schiff in the chairmanship of these important committees. Maxine Waters would chair her committee, too. OUR people would be in charge of all the committed in the House of Reps, and the CONS couldn’t do squat.
